A PET CT scan is useful in revealing or evaluating several conditions, including some cancers, heart disease and brain disorders. Preparations got to be done before a PET-CT scan: • Preparations got to be done before a PET-CT scan: • Don’t do any rigorous exercise for twenty-four hours • If you're a diabetic person, you would like to follow a special diet before the scan. • You need to prevent eating for 4 to six hours before the PET-CT scan. • Limit your carb intake for 12 to 24 hours before the PET scan • If you're pregnant or could be , then you would like to tell your doctor

  6. During the PET CT scan When you are ready, you will lie on a narrow, padded table that slides into the scanner. During the scan, you will need to lie very still so that the images aren't blurred. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the test. The machine makes buzzing and clicking sounds. CT is performed first followed by PET CT. After the PET CT scan You will need to drink plenty of fluids to help flush the tracer from your body. Be away from children and pregnant ladies To flush urine twice.
