  2. Introduction The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) was established in 2006. The Council of Architecture (CoA) regulates NATA. Moreover, the CoA functions according to certain provisions. The CoA was established under (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983. The regulations were published in the Indian Gazette. The architecture field is different from general engineering subjects. Therefore, it is crucial to have a separate aptitude exam for architecture admission. There is a separate test for engineering, pharmacy, medicine, and other areas. This entrance exam establishes a single exam scheme for architectural aptitude tests. Besides, NATA allows students from India to apply for admission in architecture courses. Applicants can avail many institutes without the hustle of several aptitude exams. Thus, NATA is the eligibility criteria for admission in a five-year (B.Arch.) degree program. The CoA, as well as the Central Government, approves these criteria. Therefore, the exam body should strictly adhere to the mandatory rules. Candidates can take admission at various government, government-aided, and unaided architectural schools and colleges based on their NATA results. This exam evaluates your drawing and observation skills. The applicant’s sense of balance, as well as aesthetic sensitivity, is judged. Besides, critical thinking abilities are tested as well.

  3. NATA EXAM Eligibility Criteria • Candidates should meet the required eligibility criteria in order to sit in NATA 2021. The eligibility criteria are set by CoA. The eligibility criteria markedly involve the below-mentioned factors- • Age- The minimum age limit for NATA 2021 is 17 years. Therefore, candidates should be 17 years old on July 31, 2021. • Education Qualification – Candidates who passed 10 + 2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Similarly, the students of 10+ 3 diploma with Mathematics are also eligible. • Qualifying in NATA-2021 does not ensure admission to any Architecture school. Thus, the candidate should meet all of the necessary eligibility criteria. Various rules are stipulated by the competent bodies accordingly. • List of Qualifying Exams- NATA is a single exam for admission in B. Arch. Program. However, various institutes take separate exams for the B. Arch program.

  4. NATA Exam Syllabus NATA Exam Pattern The exam syllabus contains basic concepts in mathematics, physics, and geometry generally. In addition to this, language and interpretation ability is tested. Other Important topics of the NATA syllabus are as follows- Elements and principles of design, Aesthetic sensitivity, Colour theory Lateral thinking and logical reasoning, Visual perception and cognition Graphics and imagery Building anatomy and architectural vocabulary Basic techniques of building construction are also tested.   5. NATA EXAM Admit Card Event Important date Release of NATA admit card 2021 first attempt April 7, 2021 Release of NATA admits card 2021 second attempt. July 7, 2021 Release of NATA admit card 2021 third attempt. August 29, 2021 Admit card is available online. Therefore, follow these steps to download the admit card for NATA 2021. • Firstly, go to the official website of NATA • Click on the NATA 2021 registration link • Enter your email ID and password to log in • Admit card is displayed on the screen • Download and take a printout of the same.

  6. NATA EXAM Result The authorities disclose the response sheets before the final result. • However, the response sheet only for Part A is uploaded. The sheets of Part B are not uploaded. • The authorities have reduced the qualifying score of NATA 2021 from 75 to 70. • The qualifying marks are decided based on the rule given below: • Score At least 25% in MCQ part (Part A) – 30 out of 120. In addition to this, a minimum of 25% marks in Drawing port (Part B). The minimum mark for Part B is 20 out of 80 • Candidates can download the result by using a login ID and Password. Therefore, it is crucial to keep your User ID, and Password memorized.

The information generally includes – Applicant’s name Valid mobile number Date of birth Valid email address Step 2: Fill out the application form by logging in – Candidates had to log in with their username and password. Thereafter, fill out all of the required information. Step 3: Upload Scanned Images of Documents – Upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, and community certificate. Step 4: Application Number Generation – Submit the application form only when documents are uploaded. Step 5: Pay the Application Fee – The application fee is paid online (through credit/debit card or net banking). Step 6: Take a printout of the Confirmation page. – Lastly, The application confirmation page appears. Take a printout of this confirmation page for further use.

  9. Important FAQ Q.1 Who is eligible to compete in NATA 2021? Candidates who have passed their 10+2 test. However, PCM should be a part of the 10+2 syllabus. In addition to this 10+, 3 students are eligible as well. Mathematics as a topic of study for diploma students is essential. Candidates enrolled in a 10+2 or a 10+3 can apply for NATA-2021. However, enrolled candidates can apply provisionally only. Q. 2 What are the requirements for admission to the first year of a five-year B.Arch. Degree program? The CoA determines the eligibility for admission. Therefore, candidates should follow the MSAE Regulations, 2020. CoA sets these regulations, and the Central Government revise them. “Without a 10+2 qualification certificate, CoA does not allow a candidate for admission to any architecture course. However, minimum 50% gross marks in PCM are essential. As well as at least 50% gross marks in the 10+2 level exam. 50% gross marks are mandatory for 10+3 Diploma students as well.” according to Regulations, 2020.

  10. Important FAQ Q. 3 If passing NATA 2021 guarantees entrance to a B Arch degree program? Qualifying in NATA 2021 does not provide a right or assurance of admission to a B. Arch. Program. The candidate should meet all of the statutory needs. Various competent admission bodies check the eligibility accordingly. Not only the institutes but the CoA also mandates eligibility standards. Q. 4 What is the maximum number of tests a candidate may take? A candidate can only take two tests at a time. The first test will take place on April 10, 2021. The second test will take place on June 12, 2021.
