  1. Effects of Pollution on Growth and Development of Children

  2. Environmental pollution has immensely increased over the past few decades. Pollution across the globe has increased vastly which has affected adults as well as children. Pollution is one of the major causes due to which there are several developmental disabilities in children born today. The level of environmental pollution is worse in developed countries and developing countries are also equally responsible for the environmental pollution. Developed countries have exploited environmental resources to an extent that it has become a global problem. For instance, the depletion of ozone is the end result of extreme industrial and vehicular pollution; it is one of the prime reasons for skin cancer in Australia and New Zealand. The Impact of environmental pollution is not just confined the human beings but it has greatly affected the flora and fauna of the entire world. Due to the increase in population, there have been a lot of species of plant and animal species that have been extinct altogether. Technological growth and development have also been equally responsible for its adverse effects on animals. Our nursery school in Greater Noida, lay emphasis on loving nature and protecting it; so that preschoolers grow into responsible human being. For instance, dumping industrial waste and household waste into the rivers and the natural source of water harms aquatic life due to which several species have even got extinct. The chemical waste and an increase in toxicity of the water is the reason behind this. The same reason from aquatic disturbance also causes a lot of diseases such as hepatitis, typhoid Cholera, and jaundice among children and adults. Children don’t have the same immunity as adults; it affects them greatly which in return has adverse effects on their growth and development of the body. As when a child suffers from diseases such as typhoid, jaundice in their early developmental years, then it

  3. hampers the overall development for example it will affect their cognitive development, motor development, and especially the physical development of a child. Pollution also has an adverse effect on the mental capabilities of a child that hampers their ability or capacity to learn and also has adverse effects on other organ systems that hamper complex developmental issues that might lead to some chronic disease later on in life. In the past decade, children are born with chronic diseases such as asthma which is majorly caused by spreading environmental pollution. Now one might say that how can a child who has just been born have inhaled so much polluted air that it caused asthma; the answer to that question is that whatever the mother inhales get into the system of the mother and the child gets all the nutrition through the mother through the umbilical cord; the blood that infant gets from the mother. And if the mother is inhaling toxic material then it might cause disabilities in the child even before birth. Asthma and heart disease are the end result in infants caused due to environmental pollution. Studies there suggest that there is evidence that exposure to air pollutants has adverse effects on the function of the lungs and chronically reduced function of lungs when exposed to air pollutants. Further, there are increased chances of allergic sensitization that have a risk of reading genetically to the future generation and cause of pediatric lung diseases Evidence suggests that there is a relationship between exposure to air pollution and aggravation of asthma. It shows that exposure to

  4. particulate matter and ozone has increased the prevalence and incidence of cough and bronchitis due to the exposure this has caused the increase in breathing issues among children. Therefore, we can say that the overall health of the children is affected due to pollution. Cambridge School Greater Noida is among the top schools in Greater Noida. At our school, we believe in the overall development of a child for which we give equal importance to physical exercise along with academics.
