With a 32-bit Arm Cortex M0 or M4F microcontroller, the devices incorporate the necessary analogue and power management peripherals and offer cell balancing, monitoring, and protection for battery packs with 10s to 20s of runtime. Access to several analogue and digital peripherals needed to handle high- cell-count battery packs is made possible by the PAC22140 and PAC25140. Among these are a differential amplifier with configurable gain, many 16-bit Sigma-Delta ADCs for current and voltage sensing, and a 10-bit SAR ADC. The device is powered by a single-supply 145V-buck DC/DC controller, which creates a 5V system rail and supports the charge and discharge FET drivers with an integrated charge pump.
