  3. Carmelia Taylor About Carmelia Taylor, Esq. was born in New York to Barbadian and Trinidadian parents.  She lived in Barbados in early years, where she attended primary school. Eventually returning to New York to finish her studies.  She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of Binghamton and a Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law.  For more than twenty years, she has handled the gamut of immigration matters. Her passion for immigration law stems from the simple beginnings of her own family, who came to the United States in the 1960’s and relied on immigration lawyers to resolve their immigration problems. She was the first member of her entire family to be born in the United States.
