  2. It was a still, starry night. The sky was as black as coal and all that could be heard was the hoot of a solitary owl and a gentle rustle, as the breeze danced through the trees. The entrance to the Magik Circus was quiet and deserted. A sign by the entrance held a poster: Artistes Wanted.

  3. A small girl stood in her Circus Caravan looking through her invoices. She dropped a single desolate coin into a metal box as she was short on money. To earn money she had to find an Artist and the Artist would bring money in from the people! She sighed in the dim light of the candle. Oh, how she wished somebody would notice the poster! She hadn’t been able to get to sleep for days. She needed money to pay the invoices or else she would have to shut down the circus.

  4. An inexplicable teapot hopped down the irregular road and saw the sign. It looked up at the sign and read: Artists Wanted. The teapot hopped away in the direction of the Magik Circus tent. Meanwhile, the girl was tossing and turning trying to get her first wink of sleep that night. She hadn’t slept properly for days, she was worrying about the invoices and how she would get the money to pay. She badly needed to find an act for the circus.

  5. She was interrupted in the night by an unknown noise coming from the source of the Magik Circus. Her ragged teddy bear fell off her bed and it creaked as she awoke. Her window was just above her candle and it was only just secure enough to stay shut. She got out of bed ambled across the wooden floor and over to her window. She leaned on her broken stool and peeped out of the glass. She gave a little gasp of joy as she saw a strange shaped shadow in the circus tent. It was jumping backwards and forwards and making a noise like “Funk, funk, funk!”

  6. The little girl put her shoes on and walked down the old steps and walked into the circus and looked all around the circus tent, looking for the creature. She sighed and started to walk back. Suddenly, a long golden snout popped out of the starry curtains and began sniffing around. The bonneted girl swung round and saw the snout! It hopped forward and stumbled down the stairs! It was a live teapot and it was flapping off the dust! The girl bended down and looked at the unknown, golden teapot then it took off it’s lid and waved it at the girl. She ran towards the teapot ready to pick it up but…

  7. …the little girl stepped back as it flashed, the scene like lightning. She held her hands to her chin and watched. It seemed as if a ghost had flown out of the spout. “Whiiiiiiiiiirrrrrhh!!” shouted the ghost. Then it made some kind of a noise and it sounded like he was being sick! He got up from the floor and he had turned into a solid figure! The little girl stared in disbelief. He put his hand on his chin and thought what he should show her first. He wanted to join the circus. “Hmmm…Hey!” he said. He pulled a Venus Fly Trap out of his huge pocket. It had smelly green smoke coming out of it’s head.

  8. The Venus fly trap started to growl and snapped out at the little girl. She jumped back and closed her eyes afraid that she would be eaten. The frog genie threw the Venus trap onto the floor because it was trying to badly hurt the girl. He panted and stamped on the poor thing. When he had stopped stamping on the plant he pulled out of his pocket a poster saying: Wanted Artists.

  9. The little girl was thinking, I will let him join but he will have to show me his tricks first. He stared at the little girl and pointed to the ring that dropped down. Then he pulled the ring down and showed the tricks. Firstly he put the girl into a magic cabinet and sliced her into three piece with a sharp bladed sword. At the side of him he stacked them up back together and opened the door and the girl was completely out of shape. Then he put her on a wheel and spun her around. He threw a knife, an axe and a big boulder onto the little girl whilst she was spinning round on the wheel. He put an apple on the little girl’s head and got a cannon and blew it at the little girl who turned into dust.

  10. She started to cry because she did not want to die or get badly injured. The magic frog genie was feeling sorry for the little girl and his lips started to tremble. The genie then pulled out a wand from in his pocket and turned himself into a frog.

  11. The girl ran over to the frog and thought he looked cute. So she picked him up and threw him in the air. The girl looked at the frog and she thought she would put on a show to get money for her invoices. The frog genie had purple eyes, was big fat and green and had skinny legs. In the poster was the title of the show – The Flying Frog.

  12. The frog jumped off a diving board and onto the trapeze. He then fell off that and onto a ball where he balanced. The little girl was throwing knives, forks and bowling pins at the poor frog. Then the frog tripped and landed in a cannon where the little girl then lit the cannon and sent the frog flying.

  13. The frog flew back into the air from the cannon and the trapeze hit him in the tummy. The girl cut the trapeze rope again. The frog face planted the wooden floor and that’s when the show ended as the girl was rewarded with money and flowers from the crowd!
