  1. Artist in Residence - Flowers and Gardens Exhibition Sacred Heart will be exhibiting this term’s art work that has been done by our children and the Art Stars from Sacred Heart, Wensley Fold and St Silas alongside our Artist in Residence, Pat Southern-Pearce. Exhibition is on Thursday 17th July, 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Hope to see you all then. There are still a nigh number of children being picked up from outside the school gate at the end of the school day. It is very important that all children are picked up from the school playground, where the class teacher can clearly see the child has been picked up. Children will not be allowed out of the playground until their adult has picked them up from their teacher. 01254 54851 Children’s University Presentation There will be a presentation on Monday 14th July at 9am for those children who have received a certificate as part of Children’s University and did not attend the Graduation. All parents are welcome to attend. A big thank you to all our Year 4 families who came to see the children in our singing assembly. It was lovely to see so many of you. There are activities taking place during August which include arts and crafts, Children’s University Activity Days, multi sports and a family outing. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. Letters to be given out with further details. Summer Reading Challenge at Blackburn Library Your child has brought home a letter about the reading challenge taking place over the summer break. Children’s University members will also have an additional letter with details of how they can collect 6 hours if they complete this. Breakfast Club Tuesday Treat next week will be ‘Crumpets and scotch pancakes’. Breakfast club starts at 8am every morning at £1 per child. Everyone is welcome. Talk Homework: We feel that this is a really valuable activity and has a very positive impact on the quality of the ‘Friday Write’. There is no need to do any writing or bring in any paperwork. Fantastic Friday – Friday 18th July Children who are on packed lunch or home dinners during the week have the option of having a school dinner on a Friday. This is at a cost of £1.90. The menu is: Cheese and onion lattice with chips, fish and chips, jacket potato, baked beans, and small ice cream tub. Week 1 menu will be served next week. Friday 11th July 2014 Newsletter Summer Arts Workshop Children in Year 3, 4 and 5 will have a separate letter about the above which will be happening over the summer holidays at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery. It is for 2 full days and children can collect Children’s University hours for this. School Clubs Please note that all clubs have now finished. Please can all Children’s University members hand their passports in to the school office by Monday 14th July. Failure to do this will mean your child will miss out on their hours. Thank you.
