  1. This week … • Our Reception class were Woodland Warriors! They had a fantastic time being taught outdoors by the Park Ranger at Corporation Park. The weather brightened up for them too! • Our Year 1 class went to the Sea Life Centre. Everyone had a fantastic time looking and learning about all the different sea creatures. • We had our annual school disco. The children had lots of fun singing and dancing! • We had our Sports Day at St Mary’s College. Everyone had a lovely afternoon. Thank you to all of you for coming and cheering along the children. It was lovely to see so many of you. We would like to thank St Mary’s College for the use of their facilities and the support from their Sports Leaders. Thank you also to all the parent volunteers for their time. 01254 54851 Cluster Sports Week During sports week, Key Stage 2 will be taking part in our annual cluster sports days at Wensley Fold Primary Academy. Please see diary dates for the date your child will be participating. Everyone welcome to attend. Thank you. Loom bands are no longer allowed to be brought into school. Any children found to be wearing, playing or bringing them into school will have them confiscatedand returned at the end of the day. We have received £400 funding from Dulux Paints to paint a mural in the playground. Please see Miss O’Neill if you would like to get involved in this wonderful project. Author Visit We are very lucky to be having a visit from award winning author, Stuart Reid on Tuesday 17th June. The author will be having book reading sessions with the children. Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children will have the opportunity to purchase his books on the day. Talk Homework: We feel that this is a really valuable activity and has a very positive impact on the quality of the ‘Friday Write’. There is no need to do any writing or bring in any paperwork. Please note - Due to the sudden changes that we have had in the weather over the past week, please ensure your child comes to school with a coat/lightweight jacket on at all times. Thank you. Friday 13th June 2014 Newsletter Breakfast Club Tuesday Treat next week will be ‘Strawberry Smoothie’. Breakfast club starts at 8am every morning at £1 per child. Everyone is welcome. Fantastic Friday – Friday 20th June Children who are on packed lunch or home dinners during the week have the option of having a school dinner on a Friday. This is at a cost of £1.90.
