REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA MINISTRY OF DEFENCE GENERAL STAFF OF THE ARMED FORCES DEFENCE POLICY The strategic objective of the foreign policy of the Republic of Albania is integration into European and Euro-Atlantic security structures, objective which has now not only the full support of the Albanian public, but also that of the whole political spectrum in our country. In this framework, Albania considers its integration in the NATO not only as a security factor, but also as an important long-term investment towards Euro-Atlantic integration of the country. The defense policy, described in the NSS, is an important, active part of the National Security system, which take into consideration the strategic environment, advantages and challenges, risks and threats against our national security. It refines concepts and defines objectives and tasks for the Albanian Armed Forces.

REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA MINISTRY OF DEFENCE GENERAL STAFF OF THE ARMED FORCES STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP OF SECURITY • CM is the highest organ of the executive power. • CM is responsible for the implementation of the NSS and the state and developments of security instruments and national resources. • CM defines the main directions of security policy, submits them to the National Security Council and leads the activity of organs and institutions in accordance with Constitution and laws.
