  5. Markets • Trade networks • Two purposes • Opens markets for goods • Provides money for increasing production capacity

  6. Manpower • LABOR – people to do the work

  7. Money • A.k.a capital

  8. Modes of Transportation • Need to ship goods quickly and cheaply to the consumer • Railroads • Canals • Steamships

  9. Individual Assignment While reading pgs. 574-581 in your textbook about the Technological Revolution fill in the guided note-taking handout provided for you. If you do not finish this in class then it becomes homework for the weekend

Next Week at Speakers Corner… • 1 – Choose your group. 3 or 4 people • 2 – Draw for your social issue • 3 – Assign one speech writer in your group and all other members chose the social groups to research: • Child labor, general conditions & wages for factory work, abolition of the slave trade, abolition of slavery in British colonies, suffrage for all men, suffrage for all women • 4- Check out websites and information packet at home and come prepared next week with your best heckling voices!!
