I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land.

  3. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem: for sin and for uncleanness. 2 It shall be in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land. WHAT DAY IS THIS? WHY OPEN THIS FOUNTAIN? WHAT WILL THE LORD DO ABOUT THE IDOLS? WHY? WHAT WILL HE CAUSE TO DEPART FROM THE LAND?

  4. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem: for sin and for uncleanness. WHAT DAY IS THIS? READ: JOHN 8:56 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day. And he saw it and was glad. READ: MATTHEW 13:17 17 Assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. (LUKE 10:24)

  5. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem: for sin and for uncleanness. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THAT DAY? READ: JEREMIAH 31:34 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more.

  6. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem: for sin and for uncleanness. WHY OPEN THIS FOUNTAIN? READ: ISAIAH 41:17-18 17 The poor and needy seek water, but there is none. Their tongues fail for thirst. I, the LORD, will hear them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. 18 I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water.

  7. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem: for sin and for uncleanness. WHY OPEN THIS FOUNTAIN? READ: JEREMIAH 2:13 13 My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters And hewn themselves cisterns — broken cisterns that can hold no water. READ: JEREMIAH 17:13 13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake You shall be ashamed. Those who depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. WHO IS THIS FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATERS?

  8. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 WHO IS THIS FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATERS? READ: JOHN 4:10-14 10 Jesus said to her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water . 11 The woman said to Him, Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock? 13 Jesus said, Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again. 14 But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. The water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

  9. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 2 It shall be in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land and they shall no longer be remembered. WHY SHOULD THEY DESTROY THE IDOLS?

  10. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 WHY SHOULD THEY DESTROY THE IDOLS? READ: DEUTERONOMY 13:6-10 6 If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friendwho is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, 7 Of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth. 8 You shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; 9 But you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. 10 You shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

  11. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 WHY SHOULD THEY DESTROY THESE IDOLS? READ: JOSHUA 23:6-7 6 Be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, 7 Lest you go among these nations, these who remain among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them. You shall not serve them nor bow down to them. READ: ISAIAH 2:18-19 18 The idols He shall utterly abolish. 19 They shall go into the holes of the rocksand into the caves of the earth: From the terror of the LORD and the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily. READ: JEREMIAH 43:11-12 12 I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt. He shall burn them and carry them away captive. He shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment and he shall go out from there in peace.

  13. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 WHAT WILL THE LORD DO ABOUT THESE IDOLS? READ: EZEKIEL 6:6 6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste and the high places shall be desolate. READ: 1 KINGS 22:21-23 21 A spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. 22 The LORD said to him, In what way? He said, I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. The LORD said, You shall persuade him and also prevail. Go out and do so. 23 Look! The LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours. The LORD has declared disaster against you.

  15. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 13:1-2 2 It shall be in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land and they shall no longer be remembered. READ: JEREMIAH 23:14-15 14 I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: They commit adultery and walk in lies. They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom to Me and her inhabitants like Gomorrah. 15 Thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood and make them drink the water of gall. An evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. READ: 1 JOHN 4:6 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us. But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention.
