READ: EZEKIEL 28:2-8 2 Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord GOD: Because your heart is lifted up and you say, I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the midst of the seas. Yet you are a man and not a god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god 3 Behold, you are wiser than Daniel! There is no secret that can be hidden from you! 4 With your wisdom and your understanding you have gained riches for yourself and gathered gold and silver into your treasuries. 5 By your great wisdom in trade you have increased your riches and your heart is lifted up because of your riches.

They shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and defile your splendor. 8 They shall throw you down into the Pit and you shall die the death of the slain in the midst of the seas.

He will destroy her power in the sea and she will be devoured by fire. 5 Ashkelon shall see it and fear. Gaza shall be very sorrowful and Ekron. For He dried up her expectation. The king shall perish from Gaza and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

I will also scrape her dust from her and make her like the top of a rock. 5 It shall be a place for spreading nets in the midst of the sea, for I have spoken, says the Lord GOD. It shall become plunder for the nations. READ: EZEKIEL 26:12 12 They will plunder your riches and pillage your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. They will lay your stones, your timber and your soil in the midst of the water. READ: EZEKIEL 27:27 27 Your riches, wares and merchandise, Your mariners and pilots, Your caulkers and merchandisers, All your men of war who are in you, And the entire company which is in your midst, Will fall into the midst of the seas on the day of your ruin.

READ: EZEKIEL 26:7-9 7 Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will bring against Tyre from the north Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses, chariots and horsemen, and an army with many people. 8 He will slay with the sword your daughter villages in the fields. He will heap up a siege mound against you, build a wall against you, and raise a defense against you. 9 He will direct his battering rams against your walls, and with his axes he will break down your towers. READ: JOSHUA 11:21-22 21 At that timeJoshua came and cut off the Anakim from the mountains: from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities. 22 None of the Anakim were left in the land of the children of Israel. They remained only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod. READ: JOSHUA 13:2-3 2 This is the land that yet remains: all the territory of the Philistines and all that of the Geshurites, 3 From Sihor, which is east of Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron northward (which is counted as Canaanite). The five lords of the Philistines — the Gazites, the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites.

READ: 1 SAMUEL 5:1-2 1 The Philistines took the ark of God and brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. 2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. READ: 2 CHRONICLES 26:6 6 Uzziahwent out and made war against the Philistines. He broke down the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabneh and the wall of Ashdod. He built cities around Ashdod and among the Philistines.

READ: AMOS 1:6-8 6 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of Gazaand for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they took captive the whole captivity to deliver them up to Edom. 7 But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza which shall devour its palaces. 8 I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdodand the one who holds the scepter from Ashkelon. I will turn My hand against Ekron. And the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, Says the Lord GOD.

They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday and Ekron shall be uprooted. 5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines. I will destroy you; So there shall be no inhabitant. 6 The seacoast shall be pastures, with shelters for shepherdsand folds for flocks. 7 The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah. They shall feed their flocks there. In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening. For the LORD their God will intervene for them and return their captives.

READ: ISAIAH 23:5-11 5 When the report reaches Egypt, they also will be in agony at the report of Tyre. 6 Cross over to Tarshish; Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland! 7 Is this your joyous city, Whose antiquity is from ancient days, Whose feet carried her far off to dwell? 8 Who has taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, Whose merchants are princes, Whose traders are the honorable of the earth? 9 The LORD of hosts has purposed it, To bring to dishonor the pride of all glory, To bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth. 10 Overflow through your land like the River, O daughter of Tarshish. There is no more strength. 11 He stretched out His hand over the sea, He shook the kingdoms. The LORD has given a commandment against Canaan To destroy its strongholds.

READ: NEHEMIAH 4:7-8 7 Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdoditesheard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry, 8 All of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. READ: NEHEMIAH 13:23-24 In those days I also saw Jews who had marriedwomen of Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab. 24 And half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod and could not speak the language of Judah, but spoke according to the language of one or the other people.

Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar. For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. 8 The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, Yet I will gather to him Others besides those who are gathered to him.

He was moved with rage against him, attacked the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him. And there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand. 8 Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.

Therefore they destroyed them. 20 Therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know thatYou are the LORD, You alone.

Where are Your zeal and Your strength, The yearning of Your heart and Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained?

He shall speak peace to the nations; his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.

Others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The multitudes who went before and those who followedcried out, saying: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! Hosanna in the highest! 10 When He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? 11 The multitudes said, This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.

READ: HOSEA 2:18 18 In that day I will make a covenant for them; With the beasts of the field, With the birds of the air, And with the creeping things of the ground. Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth, To make them lie down safely.

Even today I declare that I will restore double to you. 13 I have bent Judah; My bow, Fitted the bow with Ephraim. And I raised up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and made you like the sword of a mighty man. WHAT WAS THIS COVENANT? WHAT WILL THE LORD DO FOR THEM? WHO WILL THE LORD SET FREE? WHAT DOES THE LORD WANT THEM TO DO? WHERE IS THEIR HOPE? WHO DID THE LORD RAISE UP? WHY?

  43. QUESTIONS: ZECHARIAH 9:11-13 WHAT WAS THIS COVENANT? READ: LEVITICUS 26:42-45 42 I will remember My covenant with Jacob and My covenant with Isaac. And My covenant with AbrahamI will remember. I will remember the land. 43 The land also shall be left empty by them and will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them.
