Commemorative Activities • If official, appropriated funds may be authorized for use • If privately sponsored, use extra scrutiny to safeguard public funds and resources • Because sensitivities are high, this area can be fraught with a “just do it” mentality. • “There are no shortcuts in rendering proper honors”
