  2. Project Overview *Students will work together to understand and model our school-wide expectations: Be SAFE, Be RESPECTFUL Be RESPONSIBLE, and Be a PEACEMAKER * Students will continue to establish classroom routines, schedules and tools.

  3. Reading Standards RL.2.5 Describe the overall structure of a story, including the beginning and the ending. RI.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in text. Mr. Putter and Tabby Pour the Tea Noise Level 1 • Open to page 42 in your Treasures book. • Taking turns with your group members, read aloud Mr. Putter and Tabby Pour the Tea with your group. • When you have finished the story, work together complete the comprehension activities with your group. • Turn the papers into the Turn In File with your name on the top.   4. Writing“School-wide Expectations” Standards W.2.7 Participate in shared writing projects. W.2.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they introduce a topic and use facts to develop points. Noise Level 1 • Step One • Choose from the following expectations: • SAFE RESPECTFUL RESPONSIBLE PEACEMAKER • Step Two • Use the graphic organizer to display five or more ways to follow your expectation at school. • Step Three • Choose how you want to present your expectation. • You may use: • Google Docs • Google Slides • Pictures/ Create a Cartoon • Create a Book • Other- Check with your teacher • Materials Needed • Writing Journal • Graphic Organizer • Pencil/ Colors • Computer Project Connection: Class expectations and needs addressed. Self-Selected Reading / Accelerated Reader Standards RF2.4 Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension Noise Level 0 • Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. • Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. • Silently read. • After you finish your book, write the name of the book and information on the SSR/AR form to turn in for a grade. • When you finish the sheet, turn it in to the Turn in File. • Materials Needed • SSR/ AR form • Book of choice Home

  6. Working with Words Standards RF2.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds. RF2.3.a Distinguish long and short vowels when reading regularly spelled one-syllable words Noise Level 1 Monday: Start the spelling packet. Tuesday: Finish the spelling packet and turn in to the turn in file. Wednesday: Choose Practice Activity (if finished with packet): 1. Crayon Mats 2. Story Thursday: Spelling City- go to the website to practice your words for the test on Friday. You may only go to the challenge list if you have mastered the regular list.
