  5. Moniters&Displays • It would Be Impossible to use a computer without a monitor or display giving you visual feedback of what you doing. • The monitor shows you what is going on inside the computer. • There are several monitors you could use.

  6. Drives&Media • Computers typically play both DVDs and CDs in the same drive. • DVD can hold approximately 5GB of information. • The newest drive is the USB. • Most computers also have other drives that also allow you to permanently store data.

Computer Connections • -Power Adapter In-Is where the power cord connects to the computer. • DVI video output-The digital video connection that sends the signal to your monitor .It replaced the older analog VGA connection. • Parallel printer port-Commonly referred to as the “printer port” the parallel will transfer data faster than the serial port. • Ethernet/Network jack-This is what the high speed modems (DSL & cable) Use when the connect to your computer. • Line in port-This is where you plug your computer’s microphone in to record your voice. • Speak out port-Your computers speakers and/or headphones plug into this port.
