  1. Geography/ELAAdjective & Adverb Challenge Knowing your parts of speech and where you want to go in life, are two imperative things that merit our consideration this First Nine Weeks of School, here at ACA Intermediate. Therefore, we are going to study both during this time.

  2. What is an adjective? • Definition: an adjective is a word that describes a noun, pronoun, or another adjective. • Example: Thequickwittedchild was able to answer the questions due to knowledge gained from experience. • Practice: My favorite meal is gluten-free gooey mozzarella and pepperoni pizza.

  3. What is an adverb? • Definition: an adverb is a word that describes a verb, or other adverb. • Example 1: The worried child criedmiserably for endless hours. • Example 2: My favorite baseball player hits homeruns effortlessly. • Practice: Jesse’s beautiful singing is surprisingly soft.

  4. Challenge ELA/Social Studies Cross-over Writing: Using the half to whole page writing from Friday, August 29: Where in the world would you visit? What sites are you visiting? Have you been there before? Why are you visiting this place? • First: identify ALL the adjective and adverbs present in your writing. • Second: you must have at least three adjectives and two adverbs in each paragraph. Third: highlight adjectives in yellow, and adverbs in blue
