Frog: (in a funny voice) It's me, Froggie! Rabbit: Uh, I'm busy here, Froggie. Gotta read my bedtime story. Frog: Oh, I would love to listen. I do love stories. Voice 2: So Froggie just hopped his little uninvited self right through Rabbit's door. Voice 3: And he dripped as he listened to Rabbit read his story. Frog: Well, done, Rabbit! Storm's ended, too. Thanks for your kindness! Toodle--oo! Voice 4: The next night, Rabbit had just finished cleaning his kitchen when he heard a knock- knock-knocking on his door again. All: Guess who? Frog: It's FROGGIE! Voice 1: Rabbit was just a simple hare. Voice 2: He lived in a hole in an old oak tree. Voice 3: He cooked his own food. Voice 4: Everything in his hole was neat and tidy. Voice 1: Rabbit loved to read. Voice 2: At the end of every single day, he read himself a story. Voice 3: Rabbit liked his life. Voice 4: Rabbit was happy. All: But, one day, his simple life changed. Voice 1: Can you guess why? Voice 2: A new little hopper knock-knock-knocked on Rabbit's door during a storm. Voice 3: Was the hopper another little rabbit? All: No. Voice 4: Was it a grasshopper?   2. Readers Theater, page 2, Continued Rabbit: Uh, I'm about to read myself a story. Frog: Then I'd say I have good timing. I do love stories! But first, let's fix ourselves a snack or two or three. You don't mind do you? Rabbit: I guess not. Voice 1: So Froggie hopped into the kitchen. Voice 2: He popped some popcorn. Voice 3: He whipped some cream. Voice 4: He mixed up some peanut butter, mustard, pickles, bananas, and cookies. All: What do you think Rabbit thought? Rabbit: Just look at the MESS! Voice 1: But Rabbit read the story. Voice 2: And Froggie listened. Voice 3: At the end of the story, Rabbit said, Rabbit: Story's finished. Voice 4: And Froggie said, Frog: Well, done, Rabbit! Snack's gone, too. Thanks for your kindness! Toodle--oo! Voice 1: Well, how do you think Rabbit was feeling after that? All: Was he worried? Voice 2: A little. All: Do you think Froggie came again? Voice 3: Probably.
