A programme which offers students both content and skills-based courses in the study of english language. Students will be exposed to courses which introduce them to English linguistics and also courses which train them to be better language users.

  5. 2011 ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT FACULTY OF MODERN LANGUAGES AND COMMUNICATION • The B.A. (English Language) programme offers students the opportunity: • to acquire knowledge of the English language as a linguistic system and • to develop skills in using the language.

  7. 2011 ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT FACULTY OF MODERN LANGUAGES AND COMMUNICATION DURATION OF COURSE OF STUDY: 9 SEMESTERS MINOR OFFERED FOR PJJ B.A. ENGLISH LANGUAGE STUDENTS IS ENGLISH LITERATURE, THUS GIVING A COMPREHENSIVE EXPOSURE TO BOTH THE STUDY OF LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE.

Graduates of the programme have gone on to become teachers, lecturers, editors, copy editors, writers, translators, diplomats, journalists, public relations officers, trainers, language officers, etc.
