  6. SCAA Air Navigation Services are responsible for traffic management services for both civil and military air navigation during peacetime in the form of: • air traffic control • briefing • telecommunications • rescue services • weather services (not military) VDL Mode 4 Implementation

ATM • System 2000 – New ATM system for whole Sweden • Delivered by AIRSYS • First part in operation December 2001 in Stockholm • Co-operation with Australia on implementing ADS-B • 4 Upgrades planned until 2004 • SMART – ATC Simulator at Swedish ATS Academy (SATSA) • Delegated Airborne Separation during Approach and Departure simulated in May 2000 • Full implementation of ADS (ADS-C and ADS-B) is ongoing VDL Mode 4 Implementation

  12. Extension of NUP Infrastructure • NUP will install a limited ground infrastructure in Sweden • Expanded to 22 stations • Service available 2004 • Ground network exists today VDL Mode 4 Implementation
