PPM+ uptake & utilisation Biggest eWhiteboard deployment in country (110 wards, 3602 staff trained) eMeds – 146 inpatient areas live, 100% adults, paediatrics, maternity and ICU 7,462 trained & active - over 34,000 doses a day 19,574 Primary and Secondary Care Distinct Users (Sept 2018) On Average 15,322 updates a day into LTHT PPM+ Records 71,429, 356 instances of PPM+ usage (Sept 2018) eCorrespondence 668,779 (Jan – Sept 2018) 2.8 million patients known to PPM+/LCR of which 2.2 million associated with LTHT 74 million interactions with PPM+ per month & 64 million messages per year through the integration functions 580,251 forms completed (Sept 18) @DITLeeds | #LeedsDigitalWay

Key factors for Leeds: Scale & multiple sites History of eMeds at LTHT 2018 – Rolled out to 30 paediatric & womens inpatient areas 2016/17 – Rolled out to 98 Adult inpatient areas Piloted in Sept 2015 2014 Subsequent re-procurement (CSC’s MedChart). Original supplier folded Project started in 2009 @DITLeeds | #LeedsDigitalWay

Identify what’s important • Medchart embedded within EHR • Electronic Discharge Advice Note (eDAN) – in-house electronic discharge solution in EHR, designed with our GP’s • Secure invocation – single-sign-on. Accessing eMeds through PPM+ without additional login. Safer & more familiar way of finding patients. Encourages use of PPM+ as a portal

Benefits • Improving Patient Safety • No more illegible or peculiar prescriptions • Safer prescribing and administration with alerts for patient allergies • Electronic request for a pharmacist review (validations) • Fairer and more informed prescribing; • Strengthening formulary compliance • Improved access to pharmacy information resources through easy to use inter and intranet links • Safer prescribing through team built protocols, e.g; • Working with the antimicrobial and VTE team to supportive prescribing practice with protocols • Working with the clinical teams to build and design protocols to support timely, standardised and safer prescribing. • Improved traceability; • Ability to see clearly on every prescription the prescriber and their role • Can collect audit data on medication and administration at the click of a button (e.g. missed doses. • Supporting workflow; • No more searching for, or losing prescription charts • No more time spent transcription checking • More streamlined prescribing of discharge medicines allowing for easier and quicker validation • Decision support with allergy alerts, duplicate prescription alerts and drug interactions
