Writers Workshop – In writing we are continuing writing about small moments from our own lives. Students are writing personal narratives and learning to self conference, peer conference, and teacher conference. Students will be publishing their first piece of writing. Math Workshop: We are continuing to focus on operations and algebraic thinking. Some of the main skills are adding and subtracting one or two numbers, solidifying basic math facts, skip counting, and some basic measurement. Science: We are exploring heat, sound, and light. The second part of these next six weeks, we will explore magnets, force, and motion. Social Studies: We will be studying conflict/Resolution using a variety of mentor texts. REMINDERS. *Oct 10this a half day – Please let your teacher know if your child needs a sack lunch that day. Some examples of costumes are; knights, princes, princess, the Disney princesses. *Please record your child’s reading in their binder. Those books will be counted towards the MWC. Chapter books count as 2 books! *Sing Along and Character Parade – Oct 31stat 8:00am – Join us for the fun!! More information will be coming regarding the character parade. Character Corner Creativity – Using your imagination to do something unique
