Which drilling is better - Horizontal or Directional ?

There are a number of ways that a company can drill for resources once they have purchased or leased mineral rights from the person who owns them. Depending on the circumstances which include land geology, surface rights, and well performance, there are a number of ways to access underground reservoirs, including directional and horizontal ground penetration. You can hire engineers from We Bore It for drilling at your site.

  1. Introduction ● There are different types of drilling process. ● Every process has its own advantage and applications which are used in different conditions and situation. ● We will compare the directional and the horizontal drilling to see which one can be better.

  2. What is Directional Drilling? ● Directional Drilling is the process of drilling which controls the direction and deviation of the boring programmed to the targeted location.

  3. Applications of Directional Drilling ● Through Directional Drilling, we can create multiple wells and drilling locations from any entrance. ● Through the directional drilling, we can also get drilling access to the places, which we can’t reach through the normal drilling or trenching process. ● The directional drilling also helps in making the multiple target zones.

  4. Applications of Directional Drilling ● We can also avoid the fault drilling through the directional drilling. In many situations there is the risk of slippage or movement along the fault. ● There can be many problems involved with the drilling beneath the salt domes especially in vertical drilling. In this situation, directional drilling is very useful. ● This technique is also used for placing the pipes or drilling projects under the rivers.

  5. What is Horizontal Drilling? ● Horizontal Drilling is the process of drilling where the direction of the well is horizontal. It is normally used to extract energy from the source which is in horizontal position.

  6. Applications of Horizontal Drilling ● It reduces the rate of sand production. ● It reduces the pressure around the well bore. ● It has lower fluid velocities. ● It can increase the production. ● It passes through lateral heterogeneity. Through this we can also find more information about the internal reservoirs. ● Horizontal drilling also helps in obtaining the oil from the flooded areas. ● It reduces the water and gas coning. ● It has the effective drainage pattern that results in the high rate of recovering the reserves.

  7. About Us ● We-Bore-It has been providing directional boring and trenching services to the Cable, Telecommunications and Wireless industry since 1990. ● The company was founded with the idea of uniting multiple contracting companies under one umbrella company. ● Our goal is to offer our residential and commercial customers a service that focuses on all their underground construction needs.
