  3. Urethritis • Chlamydia • Discharge, dysuria, urethritis • Gonorrhoea • Lots of discharge, dysuria • Both! • Non-specific urethritis

  4. Vaginal Discharge • Gonorrhoea • Yellow/green • Chlamydia • Change, dysuria • Trichomonas • Frothy, fishy, yellow/green • Candidiasis (thrush) • Thick white, itching • Bacterial Vaginosis • Thin white, fishy, itch rare

  5. Ulceration • Herpes simplex (HSV) 2 and 1 • Painful • Syphilis • Painless • Lymphogranulomavenereum (Chlamydia trachomatis) • Granuloma inguinale • Non-STI

  6. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease • Infection upper genital tract, most commonly STI (can also be IUCD/peritonitis) • Symptoms • pain, discharge, bleeding, dyspareunia • Signs • tenderness, incl RUQ, cervical excitation, endocervical pus • Complications • chronic pelvic pain, tubal infertility, ectopic pregnancy

  7. Epidiymo-orchitis • Pain, swelling and inflammation of the epididymis, with or without inflammation of the testes. • Causes: • UTI, STI: Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, Viral: mumps, Rare: TB, Brucella • Diagnosis • Urine MCS • Urine for STI screen • Urethral swab • Viral serology • Complications • Scrotal abscess & Infertility

  8. Infestation • Scabies • Burrows – check other areas! • Pubic lice • Itching, black/blue spots on skin

  9. Lumps and Bumps • Genital warts • Painless, single/clusters • Molluscumcontagiosum • ‘Pearly’ clusters
