  6. Media Tour – KfW Germany, 8 November 2012 Many old buildings for (energetic) modernisation – the KfW helps generate the financing 74% (29 mill. units) of the buildings are built before 1978 => thereof refurbishment demand of approx. 25 mill. units

Media Tour – KfW Germany, 8 November 2012 German Government incentives fuel growth • Goals: • Reduction of heating energy consumption by 20% by 2020 • Double energy renovation rate of buildings from 1% to 2% • Exit from nuclear power by 2020 – also reducing energy demand • Reduction of primary energy consumption by approx. 80% before 2050 • Climate-neutral standard of buildings by 2050 • KfW programmes (EUR 1.5 billion / year) • Up to EUR 75,000 in low interest loans or grants per home for energy efficiency & renewables • The more energy efficient the better the KfW co-financing

Media Tour – KfW Germany, 8 November 2012 A money machine that generates growth and jobs ”For every euro that went into the promotion of energy-efficient construction and refurbishment in 2010, public authorities collected four to five euros in revenue.” (Jülich Research Centre, 2011. www.kfw.de ) STATE = public authorities 2011:251,000 jobs created or safeguarded

Media Tour – KfW Germany, 8 November 2012 Impact of the KfW for ROCKWOOL Germany The KfW funding means significantly more energy renovations and much better energy renovations KfW in general contributes to reach the goal of the government to increase renovation rate from 1% to 2% With the KfW, employment is improved. And German citizens in draughty homes waste less money and CO2. Why not do the same? The Rockwool Forum has trained more than 300 energy consultants over the past 10 years We have more than 80 KfW qualified products and solutions
