  2. The SGA • Used when competitive grants are open for competition • Provides project description • States what types of organizations are eligible • Published in the Federal Register; Grants.Gov; and ETA’s home page at www.doleta.gov

  3. The SGAs specifically provide • Detailed information on how to apply for federal grants • Proposed scope of work and performance periods • Eligibility requirements and the dollar amount • Estimated number of grants to be awarded

  4. The SGAs also describe • What is required in the grant application • The closing date for receipt of the application • The legislative authority for the projects • Special reporting requirements • The rating criteria that will be used in reviewing grant applications

  5. Three sections of SGAs that merit particular attention • Eligibility – based on specific requirements listed in the SGA • Rating Criteria – provides a detailed explanation of the criteria used in the review process • Performance Responsibilities – provides information regarding any reports or data that a grantee will have to provide to ETA if a grant is awarded.
