  2. History • Eight Indian tribes were the natives(such as Huron and ottawa) • when French came in 1618 French built trading post and fort . After the revolutionary war the U.S got most of the territory. • Michigan was the 26th state to enter the union.

  3. Economy • Michigan's unemployment rate is 8.5%. • Michigan's top industry is automotive • Home of one of the top cereal companies Kelloggs!

  4. Geography • Michigan is very unusual state with two peninsulas connected by a 5 mile long bridge! • Surrounded by the great lakes makes it a good spot to go fishing! • Longitude: 82° 26' W to 90° 31' W • Latitude: 41° 41' N to 48° 15' • mountains in Michigan as well such as porcupine mountains! • We also have beaches for you to relax on • With many forest Michigan is great for camping

  5. Education Michigan has very many good schools and collages One of our best collages in the university of Michigan. Students in elementary have excelled in reading In middle school students excel in reading In high school students excel in mathematics and writing! Michigan high school graduation rate is 85.5%!

  6. Attractions • Frankenmuth a German town home to the Christmas store Broners the biggest Christmas store in America open all year. • Sleeping bear Dunes is another great place • The Mackinaw bridge is the gate between the upper and lower peninsula. • Go camping or fishing.
