Initial Assessment (IA)to determine new student’s level of English proficiency • Administered to all new students in Grades K-8 with a language other than English as determined by their Primary Language Survey • Must be administered within 30 calendar days of enrollment • Administered throughout the year

Annual Assessment (AA)to assess all English learners on their progress in acquiring English proficiency • Administered to all continuing English learners in Grades K-8 • Administered through October 31, 2014 • Used in determining Reclassification (w/ teacher input and parent consultation) • Additional criteria pending

  16. Prepare Test Materials for Distribution Prepare Testing Schedule • Prepare your own on-site testing schedule • Include deadlines for Initials and Annuals • Include make-up days • Includecheck-in/check-outmaterial process

  17. Prepare Testing Locations • Display ‘Do Not Disturb’ Signs • Make necessary arrangements for students w/IEPs & 504s • Determine Testing Location(s) • Reduce noise & interruptions as much as possible

  26. Check Answer Books • Verify bubbling is complete and correct for each answer book • Ensure Test Date (Field 9) is hand-grid • Stray pencil marks have been erased • Answers have been transcribed to clean answer book if original was damaged • Mark “VOID – Damaged” and return to R & E

  27. Completing the Group Identification Sheet (GIS) Complete: • Number Students Tested (AA & IA grade level total) • Grade Pre-printed One GIS for each grade level Pre-coded Page 32 in manual Pre-coded

  29. Inventory of GIS Sheets: School/Group List (S/GL) Every GIS needs to be listed on the S/GL Complete #4 & #6 Page 33 in manual

  30. Packing Materials for Return • Place the completed GIS on top of the scorable answer books/docs; then place in the PLASTIC BAGGIE • For grade levels that require more than one baggie, label the PLASTIC BAGGIE: • Grade level • Number the baggies (i.e. “1 of 2”, “2 of 2”)

  31. Packing Materials for Return continued • Place all labeled baggies in original CELDT boxes • Bring materials to R & E according to return schedule

Material Return Checklist: • Scorable documents • Completed Group Identification Sheet • Completed School/Group List • Initial Assessment Score Sheet Copies • Any unused Pre-ID labels • Copies of signed Test Security Affidavits for all staff who access CELDT materials • Test Irregularity Reports
