  2. Adversary Their biggest adversary is the Lake Central basketball team. The team can never seem to win a game against them.

  3. Alienate To make friends, one must not alienateothers and keep a positive atmosphere. How does one make friends?

  4. Artifice The thief used his artifice to steal 4 dogs, a cat, and a big screen t.v. He had it all planned out and fooled everyone.

  5. Coerce Frank tried to coerce the child into giving up his toy car. It wasn’t easy.

  6. Craven The wizard was able to give a heart to the craven lion. C’mon, how is the lion described?

  7. Culinary Le Cordon Bleu is a French school of culinaryart. Not art done on paper or canvas.

  8. Delete In order to cut costs, we must delete a few zeros from your paycheck. Yeah right.

  9. Demise The ceremony was held on the anniversary of his demise. He won’t be here to celebrate.

  10. Exhilarate The presence of a KrispyKreme doughnut exhilarates the senses. My heart is pumping and my mouth waters.

  11. Fallow The farmer left the field fallow while he was on vacation. No one worked on it.

  12. Harass The school bully took it upon himself to harass the new student. Not the way to make friends.

  13. Inclement The game was cancelled due to the inclement weather. It is very difficult to play in this type of weather.

  14. Muse Jessica was often caught in a muse about her new found love. She is ‘thinking’ and not working.

  15. Negligible The injury of the team’s best player is negligible and won’t affect the outcome of tonight’s game. It won’t stop him from playing.

  16. Perpetuate Every winter we try to perpetuate our tradition of building snow creatures. Traditions are hard to start.

  17. Precedent When George Washington left office after 4 years of presidency, he set the precedent for the succeeding presidents. Now they know what to do.

  21. Urbane The urbane manner of the candidate almost convinced me to vote for him. He looks as if he would make a good president.
