  1. of Poland Monitoring of energy efficiency in Poland

  2. Public Statistics Statistical Surveys Programme Realized surveys: • Fuels and energy balances • Mining, electricity and heating • Specialistic statistical survey in scope of fuels and energy • Electricity, gas and oil products prices • Liquid and gaseous fuels Institutions involved: • Central Statistical Office • Ministry of Economy • The Energy Regulatory Office

  3. Public Statistics Statistical Surveys Programme cont. • Data sources: • Surveys realized on specialistic energy forms • Secondary use of data from other forms • Data from foreign trade statistical system • Administrative data bases

  4. Public Statistics Statistical Surveys Programme cont. • Surveyed units: • Up to 17,000 units surveyed annually – enterprises and organized units • Occasionally sample surveys - households, agriculture holdings and transport

  5. Participation in the EU programmes • Inteligent Energy Europe: • New and renewable energy sources • Energy efficiency, especially in buildings and industry • Energy aspects of transport • Co-operation with developing countries • Evaluation and monitoring of energy efficiency in the new EU • member countries and the EU-25 Directive 2006/32/EC on energy end-use efficiency and energy services

  6. Final energy consumption and GDP

  7. Final consumption according to sectors

  8. Final energy intensity of sectors

  9. Final energy consumption in manufacturing according to divisions

  10. Final energy intensity of manufacturing branches

  11. Energy intensity of manufacturing

  12. Impact of structural changes

  13. Occuring problems • Increasing importance of demand side of balance – large number of units to survey (households, transport) • Increasing importance of small, but numerous energy producers – especially renewable energy sources

  14. Directions of development of official energy statistics • Inclusion and coordination of statistical surveys of other public units • More customer directed approach
