  1. Informatics ‘journals’ aka Earth and Space Science Informatics

  2. ESSI • e-journal being considered by AGU publications committee • EOS accepts informatics articles and news items (Lee Allison, editor for ESSI ) AGU Geophysical Monograph Series • VO monograph • Others?

  3. Journal of Earth Science Informatics: Call for papers: March 15, 2007 This international, English-language journal publishes original, interdisciplinary articles in all aspects of informatics dealing with the Earth system.Informatics is the science that deals with the application of formal and computational methods to the systematic analysis, management, interchange, and representation of information and knowledge. It includes geoinformatics, ecoinformatics, and hydroinformatics as sub-disciplines. Earth Science Informatics, as a scientific discipline, focuses on two major aspects: (I) the formal representation of the spatial and temporal hierarchical structure of, and relationship between, entities in the Earth system and (II) the design, development, and application of computational tools to acquire, store, analyze, visualize, manage, represent, utilize and communicate information about spatio-temporal dynamics of the Earth system to an interdisciplinary audience.

Computers and Geosciences • http://www.nesc.ac.uk/news/articles_and_calls/GeoinformaticsCallJan07.html\ • http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/398/description#description • Geoscience Knowledge Representation for Cyberinfrastructure • Guest Editors: • Boyan Brodaric, Geological Survey of Canada, brodaric@nrcan.gc.ca • Peter Fox, National Center for Atmospheric Research , pfox@ucar.edu • Deborah L. McGuinness, McGuinness Associates and Stanford University , dlm@cs.stanford.edu • This special issue invites new original research papers that demonstrate how representations of Earth and Space Science knowledge are currently meeting scientific or engineering goals in cyberinfrastructure. Papers should highlight the novel content, structure, methods or uses associated with the knowledge representation. Papers should also emphasize the value added by the representation through description of a working example, the intended function of a system being built, or the practical benefits of an advance in theory.

  5. EGU journal • Advances in Geosciences: • http://www.copernicus.org/EGU/adgeo/adgeo.html • Rumors about an informatics journal are spreading - anyone heard anything?

  6. GSA Geoinformatics • Data to Knowledge monograph • USGS publication of Geoinformatics 2006 and 2007 abstracts • Journal? Probably not just yet

  7. Data Science Journal • CODATA • www.datasciencejournal.org
