  2. Why this Work shop? The WGBFAS recommends that before the WGBFAS-2006a Baltic Sea Regional Project workshop on FishFrame should be arranged in October in Poland where focus will be on: • Evaluation of the calculation procedures by comparing to the national procedures and results. This should be done by all involved countries. • Evaluation and testing species-to-stock-transformation for Herring. The use and testing of FishFrame has until now only been on cod and sole. Herring and whitefish are handled slightly differently because the species to stock transformation not only depends on the area but also uses the spawning-type information. This case has not been tested separately. • Use of the reporting facilities. (From WGBFAS report 2005)

  3. WGBFAS 2005 recommendations continued… • It is desirable that all 2005 data (landing statistics and sea-, harbour- and marked-samplings) for all species should be uploaded. • the quality of uploaded historic data should be assessed. • the use of FishFrame for producing input data (CANUM, WECA) to the assessment models for all species in advance of the WGBFAS-2006. • the use of other reporting facilities in FishFrame to support the analysis and final reporting in advance of the WGBFAS-2006. (From WGBFAS report 2005)
