  1. May 2012—New ImmPactFeatures The Maine CDC – Maine Immunization Program – Immunization Information System (IIS) Unit and MaineCare’s Improving Health Outcomes for Children project are pleased to announce the formal release of a number of significant changes to the ImmPact system. These changes are designed to improve the user experience and enhance existing reporting tools.  As of May 4, 2012, the following ImmPact system enhancements became available to users: Main Client Summary Page Quick Look Client Up-To-Date Indicator Users can now quickly see whether the client is currently due for routine, non-seasonal immunizations. On the main Client Summary Page, the client’s Up-To-Date status is clearly displayed as “Yes” or “No” at the top right corner of the page. The Up To Date status is based on ACIP recommendations, but does not include influenza (due to extreme variability between clients and vaccine schedules). Providers should be aware that the Up To Date indicator reflects the client’s status based on the last time their record was updated in ImmPact.

  2. Immunization Coverage Report Criteria Page Organization/Site Swap Box This feature allows authorized users to select multiple sites from multiple organizations, when the user has associations with more than one organization. The sites available for selection are displayed in the left swap box, called “Sites.” The sites selected for reporting are displayed in the right swap box, called “Selected Sites.” To add sites to the “Selected Sites” box, click on the site name in the “Sites” box and then click the “Add” button. To remove sites from the “Selected Sites” box, click on the site name in the “Selected Sites” box and then click the “Remove” button. MaineCare Label and Dropdown This feature allows users to generate Immunization Coverage Reports based on MaineCare eligibility (enrollment) status. Using the drop down box, users can select one of three options: non-MaineCare only clients; MaineCare only clients; or both MaineCare and non-MaineCare clients. MaineCare eligibility status is updated in ImmPact regularly, usually every three or four days. Clients without confirmed eligibility status in ImmPact are considered “non-MaineCare.” County Label and Dropdown This feature allows users to generate client reports by county, based on the address of the client that is in ImmPact.

  3. Reminder/ Recall Page MaineCare Label and Dropdown This feature allows users to generate Reminder/Recall reports based on MaineCare eligibility (enrollment) status. Using the drop down box, users can select one of three options: non-MaineCare only clients; MaineCare only clients; or both MaineCare and non-MaineCare clients. MaineCare eligibility status is updated in ImmPact regularly, usually every three or four days. Clients without confirmed eligibility status in ImmPact are considered “non-MaineCare.”

  4. Affiliate Site / Partner Relationship There are new enhancements to the way that organizations and sites can be connected to each other within the ImmPact system. In the past, a simple “Organization—Site” relationship was the only option for connecting in ImmPact—in other words, the provider’s physical location with its “owner.” These connections were developed largely in support of Maine CDC and U.S. CDC requirements for tracking vaccine management and accountability. Increasingly, sites are engaging in Raising Rates activities that revolve around ImmPact’s Immunization Coverage Reports and Reminder/Recall reports. Many practices are collaborating with external agencies—not their “owners”—in carrying out these activities. However, meeting the needs for confidential and secure access in support of these new relationships has been challenging. In response, new Affiliate Functionality is available which will allow the Maine Immunization Program to connect providers and organizations within ImmPact, in more flexible ways. Now, Raising Rates partnerships can be created in a variety of ways, without requiring the traditional “Organization—Site” relationship. For more information on details about this new ImmPact feature, please contact the Maine Immunization Program at 1-800-867-4775.
