  2. Milenio Mission and Overview Milenio Mission Statement Kyrene del Milenio is an extraordinary school where all learners through dynamic opportunities will reach their potential ~ whatever it takes!

  3. New changes to state and federal law:What this will look like at Milenio this year. • Kyrene has adopted the Marzano Art & Science of Teaching. This focuses on teacher & administrator growth & accountability. • The improved system means that principals and assistants will spend the majority of their time in the classrooms observing instruction and providing teachers with research based feedback.

  4. Who is Ms. Sparks? • This is my 9th year teaching in the KyreneSchool District and my 11thyear of teaching • I was born and raised in Oklahoma and Texas and attended Texas A&M University • I love running and football (Go Georgia and Denver Broncos!) • I am a mom to Taylor who attends Preschool at Milenio

  5. What is FAIR?? Fair is when everyone gets what they need  (And we all have different needs!)

  7. The Reading Promise • When Alice Ozma was in 4th grade, she and her father decided to see if he could read aloud to her for 100 consecutive nights. On the hundredth night, they shared pancakes to celebrate, but it soon became evident that neither wanted to let go of their storytelling ritual. So they decided to continue what they called "The Streak." Alice's father read aloud to her every night without fail until the day she left for college. Alice approaches her book as a series of articles about her relationship with her father and the life lessons learned from the books he read to her.
