  1. The ACC is elaborating a set of panels (GUIs) to be proposed at the sub-detector DCS groups as : Access Control panel; DCS control panels; full detector FSM control (REM: distributed system); In this way, when integrated in the ALICE DCS, the operation of each sub-detector can be done via a set of GUIs having the same ‘look and feel’; Once approved, by the end of March 06, the first prototype of GUIs will be available on the ALICE DCS site along with instructions for their integration in your present DCS project; The proposed GUIs will be periodically updated according to the suggestions/comments that will be collected from the DCS users after a certain time of usage . Standardization of the DCS control panels

  2. 2° Pushing the WXP standard button then the FW login panel will appear. Only once authenticated the main DCS control panel will appear (see next slide) giving at the User the corresponding rights of operations Standard FW login window Detector Access control Commands:LogoutChange UserSet PasswordFind User The DCS Access Control 1 ° Once the operator starts the DCS project from the PVSS consolle, this panel will be the first panel to be automatically opened

  3. DCS Racks PC1 M2 M1 M3 M4 M5 M6 M7 PC2 3° The main DCS control panel as provided for the FSM in the FW • For a FSM hierarchy of a distributed system, as on the top of the figure, the pannel below is automatically provieded by the SMI++ tool in the FW; • Tha ACC, starting from this standard proposes a new panel that integrates extra features

  5. Deep inside the GUI for the FSM CONTROL ZONE DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD • In the distributed project on two machines, the FSM engines have to be started on each machine via the relevant FW editor/navigator windows. Here it is proposed a series of panels which : • integrates the “start/stop all” FSM engines in one button; • Give the FSM servers status; • provides the operation mode setting (included, excluded, shared..etc) for the DCS FSM processes; • Synoptic view of all the FSM processes • provides the editing/downloading of the corresponding FSM configuration file. This is a new proposed feature, so far not included in the FW. The HMPID FSM Control Window FSM servers status and FSM Control windows button FSM Node control status widget Hierarchy children control status widget Specific FSM Node status widgets

  6. By the end of March 06 the proposed set of GUIs will be available on the ALICE DCS web page Instructions will be provided for their installation and test in the user DCS project In order to improve these panels, feedback from user will be welcome Conclusion
