  2. Introduction In this time line you'll find out fun facts not just boring facts that you read out of book and that you see in history websites. In this the 1960s was a crazy decade in American History from the civil rights movements to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. America was changed by this crazy decade and because of some of the events, it still goes on today as you are reading this. This is my 1960s time line.

  3. 1960 On the 1st of February, four black college students from North Carolina went to a Tech and Agriculture college in Greensboro. The people of the college were racist so they didn't allow the students in the college. So the college students decided to protest and in the end the students got in the school. In April 1, 1960 a satellite called Trios I was launched. This was the first satellite launched in the United States.

  4. 1961 On April 17, 1961 the “Bay of Pigs” invasion of Cuba is attacked by Cuban forces in attempt by Cuban banishment under the orders of the United States government to overthrow the regime of Fidel Castro. On this year is the same year when the entire United States government figure skating team is killed on February 15, 1961. Seventy-three people died in the plane crash, this is the cost of the only United States figure skating team.

  5. 1962 On February 20, Lt. Colonel John Glenn the first U.S. Astronaut in orbit in the rocket called Friendship 7 Mercury. He decided to travel the earth and return before three days. John returned to earth before three days and had four hours and fifty-five minutes to spare. Johns flight was equalized the space race with the soviet union, whose Vostok I flight on April 12, 1961 with Yuri Gagarin, who is now dead.

  6. 1963 In August 28, 1963 the slaves or the civil rights marched to Washington D.C for jobs and freedom with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a head start of course because of the famous speech “I Have A Dream”. August 29, 1963 over 200,000 people joined in the marched and so Washington D.C gave in and so they got they're freedom.

  7. 1964 In this year President John F. Kennedy was thought to stop running for president. Then was surprised when he got re-voted in this year. President John set “war in poverty” on variety of federal welfare programs. Its didn't say what happened after that and John F. Kennedy was also assassinated in the same year in the white house at 12:30 precisely the killer was unknown and I think he got away.

  8. 1965 Population: 194,303,000 U.S life Expectancy: 70.2 Average home price: 21,500.00 Gallon of gas: 31 cents Postage stamp: 5 cents

  9. 1966 Population: 3.415 billion In this year India suffered a lot after this year and for the next 20 years the went through a lot and this is why they're so hard to everyone that goes there. As you can see this years population isn't very big probably because of all the poverty.

  10. Conclusion Well that's the 1960s for you. Isn't the 1960s crazy. Wow these were amazing facts. Did you see the fact about the time when John F. Kennedy was assassinated. And you see how this affected in America today. Man America really has changed because of this decade like for example the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
