  3. How it happens. • Pharyngeal cancer is mainly caused by bad habits that humans have such as using tobacco. By: Flicker user Maarten Dors

  4. More ways to get it… • In big cities there are more toxins released into the air and other things humans consume, this is believed to cause more cancer. By: flicker user The Black Azar

  5. Symptoms • Some symptoms of pharyngeal cancer are sore throat that does not go away, trouble swallowing, a lump in the back of your mouth , a change in your voice, or pain in your ear.

The Medical Explanation of Cancer • Cancer is caused by carcinogens that mutate cells and make them abnormal. • This abnormal development messes up Mitosis because these cells divide and spread uncontrollably instead of just when they get too big, and every cell that divides from a cancer cell is also infected with the cancer. • These cancer cells don’t die when they are worn out either so it can spread quickly

  7. Where Do Cancerous Tumors Come From? • Tumors are formed when a group of cancer cells clump together. This can cause major problems because the tumor can damage tissue around it and grow rapidly. Tumor in Trachea By:Flicker user delton

  8. The Main Points • You get a cancerous cell formed by some sort of carcinogen. • The mutated cell goes through mitosis rapidly and divides into more cancer cells which makes the cancer effects take their toll. • You get tumors and such and the cancer feeds on your body and sucks everything out of you as it spreads and tries infect all your body’s cells.

  9. Statistics of Cancer • 30,000 people in the USA each year are diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer. • Pharyngeal cancer is ranked the 9th most common cancer in Pennsylvania. • Pennsylvania has the 9th highest cancer rate in the nation with 571.9 people diagnosed per every 100,000 people.
