  2. Agenda • System Overview • Target Market • Argos Chassis Specifications • Argos Systems Specifications • Argos and Calypso 4 Size Comparison • Conclusion

  3. System Overview • The Argos series is based on a NetPC chassis that can accommodate most standard micro ATX system boards • The following are the main differences between our Calypso 4 and Argos NetPC platforms: • 1. Argos can accommodate most standard micro ATX motherboards; the Calypso 4 requires a customized NLX board • 2. Argos is slightly larger than the Calypso 4 (see upcoming slide for detailed chassis size comparison) • 3. Argos requires low profile PCI and AGP cards; the Calypso 4 has no AGP slot, and can use standard PCI cards • Point #1 is important because this will allow us to quickly update the Argos series using the latest micro ATX system boards

  4. Target Market • The target market of the Argos is the education, business, or corporate segment that requires a small and compact P4 or Celeron system • This unit is ideal for a classroom environment, where there is a limited amount of table space • It is also perfect for the corporate segment, where end users require a fast system and yet must fit in their limited cubicle or office space • Since the Argos is powered by DDR266 memory and P4 capable, it is the ideal high performance compact system • The Argos’ upgrade path is more flexible than the Calypso 4, since the Argos can accommodate most standard micro ATX motherboards, and the Argos has an open, low-profile AGP slot

  5. Argos Chassis Specifications • Chassis - Argos NetPC chassis w/ 180W power supply - Convertible between desktop and minitower - Requires low profile add-on cards - Desktop: 12 ¾” W x 4 ¼” H x 16” D - Minitower: 4” W x 12 ¾” H x 16” D - 1 x internal 3.5” bay for IDE HDD - 1 x external 5.25” bay for optical drive - 1 x external 3.5” bay for floppy disk drive - 1 x front headphone connector - 1 x front microphone connector - 2 x front USB 1.1 ports

  6. Argos Systems Specifications • We will be launching three Argos systems; each will be based on our existing micro ATX motherboards • For complete motherboard specs, click on the previous training course links • Argos S650 - See S650 course • Argos 845MD - See 845MD course • Argos 845PTL - See 845PTL course • The Argos S650 comes with integrated SiS 650 video • The Argos 845MD and 845PTL, since both system does not come with onboard video, will require a low profile AGP video card • At launch time, we will be using the nVidia GeForce2 MX-200 32MB low-profile AGP video card (no TV out) • We will source out other low-profile AGP video cards at a later time • We will also have a 56K V.92 low-profile PCI modem available

  7. Argos and Calypso 4 Size Comparison • The Calypso 4 is on top, and the Argos chassis is at the bottom of the picture • Calypso 4: 12” W x 3 ¼ ” H x 13 ¾ ” D • Argos: 12 ¾” W x 4 ¼” H x 16” D • You will notice the width of both unit is about the same at 12” • The height of the Argos is about 1” taller than the Calypso 4 • The depth or length of the Argos chassis is definitely longer than the Calypso 4, by almost 3”

  8. Conclusion • Launch date is Fri 07/12/2002 • Siebel model name is “D – Premio Argos Series” • We will be launching three different Argos platforms (Argos S650, 845MD, and 845PTL) under the same Siebel model name • The Argos 845MD and 845PTL system requires a low profile AGP video card
