  5. Membership • Club membership consists of full-time and part-time students • The club works with other student organizations at Katz to increase involvement and development (e.g. Internal Case Competition) • Membership interests include a variety of consulting fields:

  7. John Molson 2011 MBA International Case Competition “The competition is open to top business schools worldwide, and is recognized as the largest competition of its kind. Its main purpose is to bridge the gap between corporate and academic worlds, which ultimately enriches both students and executives alike.”

  8. Experience unlike any other • Present strategic solutions and a detailed plan of action to a panel of senior business executives • 3 hours preparation (Without the aid of tools such as PowerPoint and the internet, final presentation is a hand written) • Teams of 4 • Unpublished business cases

  9. Important Dates • Application Due: September 18th • Team Member Interviews: September 19-23rd • Announcement of Team Members: September 24th • First Team Meeting: September 27th 1st Place: $10,000 2nd Place: $7,000 3rd Place: $5,000

Crisis Management Workshop • Friday, October 21st – 2:00pm- 5:00 PM – Mervis Hall • Professor Bill Valenta This crisis management simulation will allow you to experience the difficulties of overcoming a crisis in the Information Age. You and your team will be presented with a specific crisis that is rife with competing priorities. Your team will have to decide on the best avenue for resolving the crisis while at the same time maintaining the public confidence as you answer questions from the media.

  11. Internal Case Competition • In conjunction with the Operations Club • Case: Operations Management / Management Consulting • Winning teams receives cash prize Opportunity to show and practice your structured thinking and presentation skills!

  12. Case Interview Workshop • Case workshop on how to approach case interviews • Conducted by professional on campus • Breakout sessions will include cases of various concentrations Resume Review Workshop • High level on the spot feedback from the Consulting club executive board

Recruiting Season • Larger Consulting Firms: • Full-time interviews typically begin in early October • Internship interviews typically begin in early January • Smaller/Boutique Consulting Firms/companies: • Might not have a formal recruitment program • Hire round-the-year for full-time (apply February – April) • Hire on an as-need basis for interns (apply through networking contacts)
