Chewing a gum 20 minutes after you eat or drink help reduce an acid attack. 2.It helps people with xerostomia Xerostomia means dry mouth. Some people suffer with this because of some certain reasons such as, it might be a side effect of certain medications, therapeutic radiation, dehydration, diabetes and some diseases. Chewing gum can help those people who suffer xerostomia because chewing gum stimulates the production of saliva.
