Guidance & Counseling Program GMHS COUNSELING MISSION STATEMENT GMHS is a learning community • of students, teachers, staff, parents and volunteers; • devoted to helping and inspiring every student; • to realize his or her full potential; • by providing a variety of learning experiences in a safe, supportive, challenging, and mutually respectful environment • in which we commit to: academic excellence, ethical behavior, community involvement, lifelong learning, and emotional and physical health. The Granby School Counseling Program supports the missions and philosophies of the Granby School District as stated.

Guidance Curriculum & Supports • Lessons taught through Wellness, Advisory, Assemblies, Groups, etc. • Annual Individual Planning Meetings • Individual Support During Increased Times of Need • Planning Evenings for Students/Parents/Guardians Additional resources to meet the individual learning needs of all students include: • Math Learning Center • Student Support Center (SSC) • Literacy Specialist – reading and writing support • After School Homework Club and Tutoring • School to Career Coordinator/ Mentorship Program • School Social Worker and School Psychologists

  4. 9th Grade Course Selection • January 24: 8th grade students visited GMHS to experience ELECTIVE classes and get an overview of the course registration process. • February 7-18th: 8th grade students register ONLINE • March 18th: Hartland 8th grade registration • ACADEMIC Teachers Recommendations: • Listed on the Registration Portal • Questions? Concerns? Contact Current Teacher • HS schedules will be distributed in early June. • Changes prior to June, please contact Katherine Volikas at GMMS.
