  3. The Construction The titanic was built in Belfast by a company called Harland and Wolff between 1902 and 1912 for the white star line shipping company. it was said to be one of the larges most luxurious ships ever to operate.

Facilities Onboard • First-class passengers were treated in luxury and comfort. Decorations in their lounge were modelled on the Palace of Versailles in Paris and were adorned with: ornate wooden panelling, expensive furniture and other decorations. The best rooms were the parlour suites - each consisting of: a sitting room, two bedrooms and two wardrobe rooms, as well as a: private bath, lavatory and private promenade deck. They were also treated to: • three electric elevators; • a heated swimming pool; • a gymnasium; • a swimming pool; • a Turkish bath; • a squash court; • an authentic Parisian cafe with French waiters; • a sunlit veranda cafe with live palm trees; • a fully equipped darkroom for amateur photographers to try their skills.

Mainden Voyage The Titanic began her maiden voyage from Southampton, bound for New York City on Wednesday 10th April 1912. For many emigrants who sailed on the the Titanic's maiden voyage, the trip to America promised to be the fulfilment of a dream, offering the chance of a new life. Captain Edward J. Smith was in command and it was to be his last job before his planned retirement After crossing the English Channel, Titanic stopped at Cherbourg, France, to board additional passengers and stopped again the next day at Queenstown, Ireland before steaming out into the open Atlantic Ocean. There were about 2,201 passengers and crew aboard at this point

The sinking On Sunday the 14th of April 1912 the titanic on its route to new York where lots of people were planning to start a new life the titanic stuck an iceberg in the Atlantic sea the iceberg stuck higher up from the doors/small impartment's causing them all to flood so this ment the titanic as known the best/non sinking ship was known the sink and kill many people who a boarded the titanic. The ship sank after 2 hours and 40 minuets and many people did indeed die.

  7. Aftermath After dry land received titanic's signals they arrived to rescue the survivors of the titanic this was 2 hours after the titanic sunk at 8:50am the survivors were very wet cold and very upset of the titanic sinking and loosing many people who they love and have now lost Many people were shocked that the Titanic could sink with such a great loss of life despite all of her technological advances - 706 survivors is just 31% of the 2,223 people who were on board. 1,517 people had died.
