  3. Construction • The Titanic was built by a company called Harland Wolff, in Belfast. It took 2 years to build. From 1909-1911. • There aim was to make the Titanic the most luxurious, largest boat ever made. • The chief designer of Titanic was a naval architect, Thomas Andrews, who supervised every detail of the Titanic’s construction.

  4. Facilities Onboard The Titanic was very posh. There was swimming pools, libraries hot tubs! Gymnasium, high class restraints, opulent cabins and lots more. The Titanic was very luxurious. There was also safety features such as water lights, remotely activated water doors and lots more. On the Titanic there was more than 2,200 passengers- and more than 900 crew. Sadly only 710 survived.

  5. Maiden Voyage • The Titanic’s first Maiden Voyage was from Southampton to New York. • The captain of the Titanic was called captain Edward J, it was his last ride on ship before retiring.

  6. The Sinking • In April 1912 the Titanic sank. It collided with an ice-burg at 11:40pm and sank 2hrs and 20minutes later on the 15th. • Sadly only 710 survived over a massive amount of 2,200 people. • The Titanic only had 64 lifeboats. 20 metres above the water was an ice-burg. They immediately called ‘ICE-BURG!’ • They tried to turn the ship around but it scraped the side of the ship causing it to start to sink.

  7. The Aftermath • At 4:10am a ship called the Carpathia came to see if there was any survivors left to be saved. • At 8:50am the Titanic was gone forever, under the Atlantic Ocean half way through its Maiden Voyage on its way to New York. • At 9pm on the 18th of April the Carpathia arrived at New York with 710 people. Lots of people was waiting there asking questions on how it felt and what it was like to step foot on the Titanic.
