Eligibility Requirements Education • Bachelors Degree from accredited college or university or • Substitute 4 years’ full-time professional experience and Industry Experience • Minimum of 4,000 hours professional experience in the last three to five years within a construction company or firm that services the construction industry

  11. Eligibility Requirements Affirmation of Code of Ethics • Each candidate must agree to adhere to ICCIFP’s Code of Ethics now and in the future Pass the Exam • Successful completion of the examination Certification Maintenance • Compliance with ICCIFP’s recertification requirements

About the Exam • Administered in one, 4.5 hour proctored session • 200 question multiple-choice exam, some calculations, covering eight knowledge domains • Primarily an accounting exam, with more than 60% of the questions related to construction accounting and finance • Exam regarded as tough, but fair—a challenge even for those with 15+ years of industry experience • Exam results delivered within 4 weeks of exam date

Other Considerations Recertification • Certification valid for an initial period of 3 years • Annual recertification maintenance fees currently $100 for CFMA members; $150 for non‐members • Annual affirmation of continued employment in the industry • Annual affirmation of the ICCIFP Code of Ethics • Triennial continuing education requirement of 72 CPE credits each certification cycle (every 3 years) • 48 construction-specific CPE • 24 general credit CPE

What Can I Expect on Exam Day? • Prior to exam, you will receive an admission letter ; Bring a print out of the letter with you • You must present one form of government-issued photo ID • Registration opens at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled exam start time • One 4.5 hour proctored exam session, with no scheduled breaks • Water, pencils, calculators and all other materials provided by ICCIFP
