Dr. Tsutomu Hattori,Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, JapanDr. Tsutomu Hattori is a Senior Researcher in mycology at Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, Tsukuba, Japan. He is an expert on polypore fungi and has conducted research on polypores in Japan, China, Malaysia and Thailand. He has been studying Malaysian polypores since the early 1990s and has conducted training courses on the Polyporales in Thailand and Malaysia.

He has wide experience in tropical mycology having conducted research on tropical fungi in the neotropics, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and Thailand. He has also conducted similar training courses in Costa Rica, Brazil, and Australia.
