  1. Habitats Hafsah and Sarah

  2. What is a habitit • It is the natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism • e.g. a lions habitat is a savannah and Hafsah’s habitat is the couch. SO TRUE

  3. Tropical Rainforest • The rainforest is home to lots of animals such as some monkeys, snakes, gorillas and jaguars. • Tropical rainforests are situated around the equator where temperatures stay near 80 degrees year round. Rainforests receive 160 to 400 inches of rain each year. The largest rainforests are in Brazil, Zaire and Indonesia . Other tropical rainforest places are in Hawaii and the islands of the Pacific & Caribbean

  4. The Desert • The desert is a very contrasting area from the rainforest because it receives very little rain each year and it very hot. It is prone to have sand storms, and this is why the camel has very long eye lashes because it has adapted to keep the sand out of its eyes.

  5. Adaptation • The camels eye lashes are just one of many ways that animals have changed over time to fit their surroundings. This is called adaptation. • The dolphin has adapted because the its habitat was destroyed so it adapted to living under water.
