What’s Being Done at ATF • Fast kicker development (KEK, LLNL, SLAC, DESY) • Laser wire (RHUL) • Improvement of DR BPM resolution (SLAC, FNAL) • Digital IP feedback system (Oxford, etc) • nm resolution BPM (SLAC, KEK) • Laser-Compton scattering for positron production (ILC ACD) Global Design Effort

Cavity Program in FY2007 • TESLA-like • 2-3 new cavities (most likely 2) • For S0 • Possibly for replacement in STF1 (STF1.5) • LL • 4 Existing 9cell cavities • 2 of them for S0 (shipped to US) • 1 in STF0.5 but will be removed later • 1 for tuner test • 4 New ICHIROs • 2 to be installed in STF1 • 2 for S0 incl. 1 from Korea (for STF1 if in time) • Single-cell Global Design Effort

World Premier International Research Center • A new fund starting (second half of) JFY2007 to create top-level 5 research centers with a size of 200 researcher/post docs/engineers/staffs. • At least 30% of researchers are expected to come from abroad. • Official language is English. • 0.5-2 B¥/year x 10 years (mainly personnel), can be extended up to 15 years. • More than 50 proposals seems to be submitted. • KEK is now preparing a proposal to be submitted at the end of May. • Tentative title of the proposal is “International Center for Frontier and Innovation of Accelerator Science and Technology”. • Main objective is to develop advanced accelerator technologies;SC RF acceleration and low emittance beam source/control. • We plan to implement ILC activities into this program as much as possible. • Strong suppor and participation from ILC community is highly welcome. India • RRCAT is planning a large SC Facility • Cavity fabrication • EBW • Polishing (mechanical, CP, BP) • Clean rooms • High Pressure Rinsing • Etc • Budget starts from this FY • Scope at the moment is FEL (Tera Hz region) and SNS • But can get experience for ILC production Global Design Effort
