Penyebab boros energi antara lain : KURANGNYA KESADARAN, PENGETAHUAN, PENGALAMAN DI BIDANG KONSERVASI ENERGI : • Kurangnya kesadaran konservasi energi dan manfaatnya bagi perusahaan dan nasional. • Kurangnya kemampuan analisis untuk memperkirakan potensi penghematan energi. • Lemahnya kemampuan analisis data penggunaan energidan data operasi untuk keperluan "managerial control“ • Kurangnya pengtahuan teknik audit energi, konsep energi, hubungannya dengan panas, kerja, suhu, tekanan, karakteristik performance alat-alat.

  6. INDIKATOR BOROS ..!!! Indikator secara nasional adalah Intensitas Energi. • Intensitas energi : Perbandingan antara konsumsi energi (TOE) dengan GDP nasional(juta US $). Indonesia tertinggi Perbandingan Intensitas Energi Indonesia & BerbagaiNegara th 2008 Sumber : Pusat Data dan Informasi DESDM 2009.
