Demonstrate Positive Leadership • Visible leader in the office and classroom • Recognize impact of personal behavior and choices • Making this happen! • Be a positive role model • Demonstrate sensitivity (e.g. diversity) • Abide by Federal and State Laws • Behave in a manner that positively represents our office • Demonstrate integrity in job-related and personal decisions

Respond to the Needs of Students • Maximizing your effectiveness • Invest time, energy, and care in the students who utilize the services • How? • Acquaint yourself with the students • Be available and accessible • Be responsive to questions and refer appropriately • Preserve confidentiality of verbal and written communication

  4. Facilitate Academic Success • Assist in reaching academic potential • Instrumental in providing information and a comfortable environment • How? • Maintain an open and accepting attitude • Accept responsibility for scheduled shifts (be flexible when changes occur) • Communicate regularly (discussing concerns, challenges, and success)

  5. Ensure Adherence to Standards • Expectation to follow and enforce University and/or our office policies • This ensures equal opportunity for students to succeed academically • How? • Hold students accountable • Maintain confidentiality • Publicly support our Staff • Work closely with your supervisor • Develop and maintain frequent communication with students • Attend and participate in all staff meetings

  6. Administrative Responsibilities • You are the link between students receiving our services and this office • Understand responsibilities to carry out in a thorough and timely fashion • How? • Complete paperwork promptly and accurately • Listen to the requests of staff • Duties vary, connect with your supervisor to clarify any identified tasks • Do more than you should “other duties as assigned”
