  1. Information-centric Networking: Baseline Scenarios K. Pentikousis (Ed.), B. Ohlman, D. Corujo, G. Boggia,G. Tyson, E. Davies, A. Molinaro, and S. Eum IETF 89 London, England

  2. Draft Goals • Establish a common understanding about a set of scenarios that can be used as a base for ICN evaluation • Provide equal ground for comparison, an agreed framework • Scenarios should be general enough and “technology agnostic”, although scenario detail may vary • Aim to get feedback from implementers, both on the scenario definition and level of detail • All approaches need not implement all scenarios • but all scenarios should end up illustrated in a real demo draft-irtf-icnrg-scenarios

  3. Draft Progress (10/2012-10/2013) • Introduced in IETF 85 • draft-pentikousis-icn-scenarios-00 • Extended for the Stockholm Interim • First discussion on ICN Evaluation Methodology • Updated for IETF 86 • draft-pentikousis-icn-scenarios-02 • Extended for IETF 87 • draft-pentikousis-icn-scenarios-04 • Added Evaluation Methodology section • Adoption by RG • Decision to focus and finalize scenarios, and spinoff the Evaluation Methodology parts as standalone draft • Updates and RG Decision Implementation for IETF 88 • draft-irtf-icnrg-scenarios-00 • draft-irtf-icnrg-scenarios-01 draft-irtf-icnrg-scenarios

  4. Advance since IETF 88 • Identify any scenarios that are not included so far • No new scenarios proposed based on peer-reviewed literature • No issues against the literature included either—its seems we’re done • Three open and independent reviews received on the mailing list • Comments were addressed in the version made available on the wiki for the London Interim • Further comments, suggestions, wordsmithing? Please join the editing session after this presentation draft-irtf-icnrg-scenarios

  5. Next Steps • Editing session today • Report on progress during ICNRG meeting on Monday • Proceed in the RFC publication path draft-irtf-icnrg-scenarios
