  2. NETWORK DESIGN STRATEGY GOAL: Develop a green infrastructure network that will identify “high priority” wetland and coastal resources that should be protected from the high development pressures that are currently impacting Beaufort County, and therefore guide future development.

  3. Objectives • Improve water quality • Protect Natural Heritage Sites • Maintain or protect highly functional wetlands

  4. Questions • How many acres of “high priority wetland resources” currently exist in the county? • Where should the county develop a “wetlands protection overlay zone” to guide future development? • Which land parcels are most important for continued protection of the county’s wetland systems?
